Thursday, March 16, 2017

(Sacramento) – The State Assembly, led by Assemblymember Kevin Mullin (D-San Mateo), welcomed Ireland’s Consul General to the Western United States Phillip Grant to the Assembly chambers on March 14, 2017. Assemblymember Mullin also authored Assembly Concurrent Resolution 28 which designates March 2017 as Irish American Heritage Month in honor of the multitude of contributions that Irish Americans have made to the country and California. “Irish Americans played vital roles in the development of the United States.” said Assemblymember Mullin, “Nine Irish Americans were signers of the Declaration of Independence and 22 Presidents of the United States have been of Irish heritage.” Here’s more from Assemblymember Mullin and video of the Irish dancers who performed that day in this Assembly Access video.
