Mullin Honors Biotechnology Giant Genentech

(Sacramento) – Assemblymember Kevin Mullin (D-San Mateo) took to the Assembly floor to honor the founder of California’s biotech industry, Genentech, California’s first biotech company. Founded 40 years ago and headquartered in South San Francisco, Genentech employs nearly 12,000 and has facilities in Vacaville and Oceanside as well. “Genentech has created an industry that has helped millions of patients and fundamentally changed the way serious diseases are treated,” said Assemblymember Mullin. “Just since 2010 Genentech has had nine approvals for new medicines and has received 13 Breakthrough Therapy Designations.” Learn more in this Assembly Access video.
