Mullin Pushes Disclosure Requirements for Social Media Political Ads

(Sacramento)– Assembly Speaker pro Tem Kevin Mullin (D-San Mateo) presented his measure, Assembly Bill 2188, known as the Social Media DISCLOSE Act, to force disclosure requirements in social media political ads to the Assembly Elections and Reapportionment Committee. “As voters are exposed to political advertisements while they scroll through their social media feeds, it is imperative that disclosure requirements also apply to online platforms,” Mullin said.
