“Governor Brown’s revised budget reflects his trademark inclination to save and his commitment to leave the most responsible budget he can to the next Governor. “Today’s attack on California laws and policies by Attorney General Jeff Sessions is another example of the Trump Administration’s divisive approach to governing. At a time when we should be working to unite America, this administration continues to sow the seeds of bigotry and hatred. California takes its responsibility to protect all our residents seriously. That responsibility is directly reflected in the collaboration we have had with law enforcement and others in developing legislation like SB 54, which DOES support coordination between local and federal law enforcement in regards to pursuing and prosecuting criminal activity. As we fight this legal action, we will stand with our immigrant communities and all Californians in an effort to protect everyone who makes a positive contribution to our state and our local communities.”
