ACA 25 Moves to the Senate
Sacramento – ACA 25, a measure by Speaker pro Tem Kevin Mullin allowing for continuity of government during a declared emergency cleared the Assembly with bipartisan support (57-9)* and now moves to the Senate.
The murder of George Floyd by a Minneapolis police officer is the most recent stark reminder of the inequality, racism, injustice and inherent bias that is very much alive in America. It also illustrates the need for continued reform of use of force tactics and overall systemic change in how police officers are trained and evaluated on an ongoing basis in this important area.
